In 1976, Novelty Books Café opened its doors to become the first Bookstore/Café in the United States to serve cappuccino, espresso, food, and a full bar.

 

By offering a variety of products and services for extended hours, Novelty Books Café has been able to fully integrate DC's day and nightlife into a one-stop spot in Dupont Circle.
